DJ BROHAM BOND
Your DJ's Favorite DJ since 2008
After being nudged to give it a shot by his undergrad best friend Dr. Nathaniel Brooks III, Charleson skipped meals and saved his graduate salary for months to pruchase his equipment and momentarily train under the tutliage of The BeatDoctor, Dr. Reggie Crawford. Charleson donned the moniker DJ Broham Bond - so named after his 2007 NPHC Step Show character. Known for timely song selection, energy amplifying drops, and holding extended, beatmatched mixes between hot tracks, he rapidly gained popularity among the minority undergraduates. He began DJing at Vanderbilt University NPHC events and expanded his craft to other colleges/universities, events, weddings, and clubs in Nashville, TN and beyond.
The Lowkey Instrumentalist
Classical Composition since 1997 and Symphonic Hip-Hop since 2002
Introduced to classical composition by his middle school band instructor in 1997, Charleson began writing symphonic arrangements by hand using only a piano, paper, and pen. After his parents and grandparents invested in MIDI interfaces and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW), Charleson began composing orchestral music. In 2002, he was immersed in hip-hop culture and began experimenting with orchestral, ambient, hip-hop fusion. In 2010, simultaneously with his rise as a popular local DJ, Charleson completed building his recording studio in his home and produced instrumentals for a number of artists in Nashville, Atlanta and Chicago. A select few of his instrumentals are embedded below while he continues to keep the majority of his catalogue hidden.
The Zoom Room DJ
Bringing Good Vibes Amidst The Pandemic circa 2020
After taking a break from party and club DJing to focus on research and entrepreneurial activities, Charleson returned to the turntables as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. Realizing his skills and ability to fill cold rooms with warm vibes could be extended virtually, Charleson began spinning tracks and performing in Zoom meetings, virtual conferences, and remote sessions. He continues this fun activity to this day.
